Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg is a Swedish actress. The actress was featured in various films, including European and American. She is best known for portraying the character of "La Dolce Via," an action-comedy film. It was a critical as well as commercial success, as being awarded an Oscar during the Cannes Film Festival 1960. Born in Skane, Sweden, she did a stint as a model prior to her acting profession. She won an award in the Miss Sweden competition. Then she moved to the US, and began appearing in films playing small roles. The first role she was credited with was in the movie "Abbott and Costello Go To Mars", in which she was the role of a Venusian guard. That same year she was awarded an award called the Golden Globe in the category of 'Most Outstanding Newcomer' for her role in the movie Blood Alley. In addition, she appeared in a variety of films throughout her career. The most notable of these is the War Drama between Italy and America 'War and Peace,' the Western film "Valerie", the British Adventure crime film 'The Man Within and also the French and Italian dramatic The Dam on the Yellow River. In 2015, she passed away at age 83.
