Amber Benson bio

Amber Benson hails from the US and is a producer, actress and writer, singer/director. She is best known for her role as Tara Maclay on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she has also produced and performed in her own movies Chance as well as Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Benson also appeared in the movie Kiss the Bride. Benson was the child, born on January 8th 1977, of Edward and Diane Benson. Danielle is her older sister who is an artist. The father of Benson was Jewish, and while her mother was a Southern Baptist raised by Southern Baptist parents. She grew up going to a Reform congregation in Alabama. Benson's career continues to grow since the end of Buffy. She appeared in films such as The Killing Jar, and shows like Morganville The Series. Behind the camera, Benson used her writing talent to create The Ghosts of Albion television series. In 2010, she also directed Drones. Buffy says that around 1800 Slayers exist across the globe with 500 who are part of the Scooby Gang. Slayers become active when their potential is mature enough.
